91% of employers think that students should have ONE to TWO internships before graduating.” (Millenial Branding and Experience, Inc., 2012)
Randolph College prides itself on providing our students with the real-world experience they need to make themselves irresistible to employers.
There are more than 2,000 internship and research opportunities available to our students through the Career Development Center. They range from positions at the Audubon Society to the White House to major research universities.
And the options don’t end at the country’s borders. These critical experiences are available worldwide. Students have recently done work in Bangladesh, Denmark, England, and Germany, just to name a few.
On- and off-campus internships and research opportunities are available during the academic year and summer break.

Randolph’s “Ultimate Shadow Experience” gives students the opportunity to have an insider’s view of a profession through observing and interviewing a sponsor in the work environment.
The experience assists you as you begin to explore your interests and learn about various career opportunities. Sometimes sponsors will allow students to spend time in different departments, so you can gain insight as to how different positions work within one organization. Occasionally, a student may even gain some limited hands-on experience. A typical job shadowing experience lasts only one day or can be as long as a week.
