学生就业

Student employment helps students earn money to meet educational costs while providing real-life work experience. Not only does student employment provide an income, but it also helps students learn time-management skills, 团队合作, 职业道德, 和 helps students develop their resume. Student employment is a benefit enjoyed by about 占学生总数的30%.

Federal Work Study Program (FWS)

The Federal Work Study Program is a 联邦政府资助的 第四章财政援助计划.

  • 学生 eligible for Federal Work-Study are given priority in consideration for campus employment.

R和olph Work Study Program (RWS)

学生 not eligible for Federal Work-Study may work on campus under the R和olph Work Study Program. The student’s earnings are paid with the College’s funds.

薪酬及奖励

  • Student workers are paid a minimum of $12 per hour. Some positions may pay more depending on the department 和 type of work performed.
  • Student workers are paid once a month for the prior month’s hours worked.
  • Payday is on the 25th of the month unless the 25th falls on a weekend or holiday, in which case it is the weekday 之前.

  • R和olph College uses Paycom to record hours worked.
  • It is your responsibility to make sure you are clocking in 和 out for your shifts.
  • You will receive notification each month to submit your timecard for approval.
  • Timecards must be submitted to your supervisor by the 10th each month. Supervisors have until the 15th of the month to approve. Late timecards will be processed with the following month’s payroll.

休息时间工作

  • You may work during winter 和 spring breaks if your supervisor authorizes you to work.
  • 学生 are not authorized to work more than 40 hours per week.

Will I be taxed on my 学生就业 earnings?

  • Yes, income earned through the Work-Study Program is taxable.
  • You will receive a W-2 (Wage 和 Earnings Statement) by January 31 for your earnings in the previous calendar year.
  • You should include these earnings on appropriate tax returns.
  • 如果你是全日制学生, you are exempt from FICA (social security taxes) during the academic year.
  • It is also the student’s responsibility to report all taxable earnings as earned income 和 as taxable earnings from need-based employment programs on the FAFSA for the appropriate tax year.
